A Word About Naomi

Sep 2, 2025 | Students

We mentioned in our last post that Naomi began classes at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. We are just over the moon about this, and we wanted to show you a bit more about what your money has helped accomplish.

We began supporting Naomi back in 2012, when she was just 7 years old. She was a happy, quiet little girl, and did really well in school. She even served as a tutor for some of her friends. Over the years, we watched her blossom. She got more and more involved in school activities and pageants, and even was elected to be the “Sanitary Prefect” when she was 11. At 14, in her first year of high school, she was dancing and playing chess (and even winning first runner up in a chess tournament). By 18, almost done with high school, she had turned into a gracious, thoughtful, very hard-working young woman.

Now, at age 21, Naomi is taking her first steps into the university! We look back on these images and can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Naomi has worked so hard, and we can’t imagine she will have anything but success in her future studies and her career.

Naomi at university!

All this was possible; this young woman is now in the university, because of your donations. We wanted you to see how much of a difference your money has made in this one young woman’s life. And like the ripples spreading out from a stone thrown into a pond, we know she will influence many other young women for the better throughout her life.
