Hello everyone, it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us. There isn’t much to tell in these days of COVID. All of our girls are healthy and most are studying online. Most just have to go to a local computer place, since very few have access to a computer at home. In Nicaragua, schools remain open, but with the number of infections rising most people are afraid to go to school, so the classes remain empty even though the teachers must show up.
We did hear some sad news from our contact Subash in Nepal. Khusbu’s mother died, although it does not appear to be Coronavirus-related. But she is struggling with this right now, so Christa sent a video to Subash for her, telling her we love her and are very proud of her, and that we know how sad she is right now, and that’s OK. Khusbu doesn’t have access to a computer, so she can’t study, but our other three girls in Nepal are all studying online.
Linda Maria in Honduras is also studying online, and has been entertaining herself with schoolwork, playing with her cats, and painting her nails. She also made this terrific poster with advice for avoiding Coranvirus infection. It says:
Avoid getting sick with Coranavirus
- Use a mask
- Use gloves
- Wash your hands with soap – for at least half a minute
- Avoid greeting with a hug, kiss, or handshake
- Stay at least one meter’s distance away
- Stay at home!
We hope you are all staying healthy and safe, and following the guidelines put forth by the medical professionals. Thank you so much for your support of our girls. They are not used to having to study at home and it’s been hard for them, but they are persevering. So we will, too!
