We have some wonderful news: Bencille will be graduating from Business Administrative Sciences school in December. She did it!
Bencille has been with us since she was 14. When she first came to the foundation, she and her mother were living in a tent camp outside Port-au-Prince following the devastating earthquake in 2010. They moved into a home, which was an improvement, but Haiti has continued its catastrophic spiral downwards, which has not made life any easier for anyone there, least of all a young woman trying to make a future for herself and her family. Gang violence has closed the schools for months on end; there is often no food, gasoline, or medical services, and even if there were, leaving the house can be deadly. But Bencille has persevered. She graduated from high school and after attending beauty school and considering emigrating to the Dominican Republic, she settled on Business Administrative Sciences as a way to move forward. For the last two years, she has studied and worked towards this moment, and we are so proud of her for continuing. We will continue to keep in touch and hope that she can find some work that uses her skills and pays her enough to survive and perhaps even thrive. Congratulations, Bencille!
Thank you all so much for making this possible. Without your donations, Bencille would likely not have graduated from high school, much less been able to continue on to get a useful degree and dream of being a professional. We’re so grateful, and so is she. Here is her letter to all of you.

Subject: Thank you for the academic scholarship received
Dear members of ONE NEW EDUCATION,
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the support you have provided me through the scholarship I received, from my secondary school studies to my university studies. I am very grateful to learn that you selected me to benefit from this scholarship. Thanks to your constant support, I have been able to pursue my studies without interruption and have now reached a pivotal moment in my life: my graduation, scheduled for December 27, 2025, when I will receive my degree in Administrative Sciences.
Indeed, your help has been much more than just financial support; it has been a true source of encouragement, motivation, and hope for me. Furthermore, it allowed me to believe in my abilities and persevere despite the difficulties I encountered throughout my academic journey.
Once again, my mother thanks you immensely for everything you have done for her by helping her only daughter.
Thanks to your generosity and commitment to young people, I was able to realize a dream that was very dear to my heart. I hope, in turn, to contribute in the future to helping other young people achieve their goals, just as you have done for me.
Thank you again for your support. Please accept, dear members of ONE NEW EDUCATION, the expression of my sincerest gratitude and deep respect.

Below are two pictures of our Bencille. In the first, she’s 13, with one of her cousins (she’s the one in the white dress). And just look at her now at age 24, ready for the professional world!
