Hi everyone, we hope your summer has been a good one. The students have been working hard at school, and we have some short updates for you on several of them.
In Nicaragua, Seyla is just killing it in school! She’s finished her 2nd trimester in the university for her pharmacy studies, and her grades are better than they’ve ever been in high school. She says she’s really enjoying it, which is so good to know. Tatiana will be finishing her accounting program at the vocational school in November and she wants to return to the university for a degree in accounting after that.
In Tanzania, Jeni Joseph has passed all but one class for her certification, so she will retake that class and enter a bachelor’s program in October of 2026. We’re so proud of how hard she is trying and her other grades have been really good!
In Nepal, Khusbu has chosen to study in 11th grade at the same school Amrita attends, Aadarsha Bidhya Mandir. She has a room in a house near where our contact Subash lives, and she will be studying Hotel Management for the next two years. We are glad that Subash can be there to support her, since her other option was a boarding school pretty far away.
And finally, in Uganda, Naomi started her first year of university on August 5! She is studying for a bachelors degree in Communication skills, Organization skills and French. We have no doubt that she will do wonderfully, and we can’t wait to hear how everything goes. It’s hard to believe that the little girl we started supporting 12 years ago is now in the university!
Thank you again for your support for these and all our students. At the end of this year there will be a lot more news, since the school year will be ending for several of them. We wish you all the best!
Birgit, Christa, Janeece, Leslie, and Meghan
