Back to School!

Aug 15, 2019 | Students

It’s the beginning of the school year for several of our girls!

  • In Honduras, Linda Maria begins third grade on August 19. Her mother tells us she is very excited.
  • In India, Apurva, Prachi, and Prerana began their respective years a few weeks ago, as did Barosha, Roshani, Amrita, and Khusbu in Nepal.
  • In Mexico, Angela (please see below), is beginning her next year of secondary school.
  • In Haiti, Bencille and Achecaina start their new school year very soon.

We wish them the best of luck and thank all of YOU for helping make their educations possible!

News about Angela:
If you recall, Angela left school a couple of years ago. We found out that she was having some trouble at home with some relatives other than her mother. She was not doing well in school, and rebelling a lot. Her grades suffered, and she left school as a result.

Angela and her mother moved to a new apartment, and she decided to return to school. She enrolled in a different school, and her performance this past year has been nothing short of stellar. She is getting very high marks, and seems to have grown up quite a bit. She likes this school much better (one of her comments on a recent letter was that the teachers really keep control of the classes).

As a result, we have decided to, on a year by year basis, help Angela with some of her school costs. We feel so strongly that she has so much potential that we want to help her realize that potential.

So we’ll keep you informed about her progress!
