Our Students in Tanzania

Jan 16, 2021 | Students

Hello everyone, so much is happening so quickly right now that you are receiving blog posts almost weekly from us! This will slow down soon, but this news was too exciting to wait!

We heard from our contacts for the students in Tanzania. Jenipher A., Jenipher J. and Winnie all passed their Form 4 exams! Jeni A. scored into Division One, which means she is in the top 1% of all students in Tanzania. Winnie scored into Division Two, which places her in the top 10% of all students. Both of them will have many opportunities open to them for their future. Jeni J. scored into Division Four, which means that she will have the opportunity to study in what we would call a vocational or a trade school. She would benefit greatly from a community college program, but they do not have that in Tanzania. But this still leaves her many options, including teaching grade school.

We are so proud of all of them. Many, many students in Tanzania do not pass their Form 4 exams at all, and this means they cannot go on to do anything other than the most menial or low paying of jobs. The fact that all our girls passed their exams and will be moving on is more than exciting! Our contact Shannon will be traveling there in February and we’ll have more pictures and stories after her return. Until then, we will leave you with this lovely picture of Jeni A. and Jeni J. at school with Ester and Lucy, who helps manage all the students. They have become such beautiful young women, and we are so excited to see where they go next!
