An Update on Mireya
After a vacation of playing with her sister and helping her family, as well as taking math classes in “summer school,” Mireya started her third year of secondary school.
News (and Photos) From Tanzania
Shannon was finally able to send us some pictures and news from her visit to see the kids in Tanzania. She was able to visit all of our girls there, and they really seem to be doing so well. We are so happy to hear this!
You Should Have Been There!
On Sunday, February 26, we held our annual fundraiser, Dance Party for ONE and All/Chairs For Change at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff. I will let the pictures do all the talking, but we had a blast, and it was our most successful fundraiser to date. We raised more than $5,000 for our girls!

We have a lot of news for you on this posting, and we hope you’ll check out the website to get more information. We have three new scholarship recipients from Nicaragua, and we are so excited! Belen, Melba, and Seyla will start secondary school in February. Each one of them is a wonderful young lady, and we are so excited to be able to help them continue studying.
Meet Elizabeth, and News Bits
We have a new scholarship recipient from El Sauce, Nicaragua! Her name is Elizabeth Espinoza Torrez. She is entering her third year of secondary school, and she was so excited when we informed her that she was chosen for a scholarship that she actually squealed!
La Bachillerata (The Graduate)
She did it! On December 3, 2016, Hazel Karina Martinez Martinez graduated from secondary school in El Sauce, Nicaragua. In attendance: three members of the ONE board (Christa Sadler, Janeece Henes and Meghan Haslam), a group of students from Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy, and many adoring family members and friends.
